This project was formed by data collected in-house for Skiing Magazine’s 2011/2012 ski test—evaluating several different brands and types of skis. The end result is an interactive data visualization that reflects the results of the ski test data on a few key levels. I worked on concept, design and development.
This was an interactive editorial infographic featured on skiinginteractive.com for Skiing Magazine. I was responsible for art direction, design and coding via ActionScript 2, taking the project from beginning to end.
Revenge of the Niño was an interactive data visualization that showed the course of a large storm over the Northwest and left a ton of snow. I used a time lapse video and data of the storm from NOAA to create a visual representation of the snow that had fallen. The user can scrub through to see how day, time, region and snowfall correlate. My roles included conceptual development, data visualization design, art direction and ActionScript for this project.
We decided to make a ‘meat map’ to feature video content from Meatheads Films for Skiing Magazine (skiinginteractive.com). The user can see video, photo and interview style editorial content by investigating markers on the map. I was involved with the concept, design and ActionScript coding on this project.
